The National Day has been the "Golden Week" holiday in Mainland China since 1999.

The statutory holiday for National Day is 3 days, and the two weekends before and after are adjusted to a total of 7 days; for overseas institutions and enterprises in Mainland China, it is 3-7 days;

Macau Special Administrative Region is 2 days, and Hong Kong Special Administrative Region is 1 day.

As of 2014, the General Office of the State Council of the People's Republic of China has announced that it will be closed from October 1st to 7th for a total of 7 days. Work on September 28 (Sunday) and October 11 (Saturday).

There will be celebrations and military parades of different scales every 5th and 10th anniversary.

The most influential and representative in history are the founding ceremony, the 5th, 10th, 35th and 50th, 60th, and 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. The second military parade.



On National Day, all countries must hold different forms of celebration activities to strengthen the patriotism of their people and enhance the cohesion of the country.

Countries must also congratulate each other. Every five or ten years on National Day, some have to expand the scale of celebration.

To celebrate the National Day, governments of various countries usually hold a National Day reception, hosted by the head of state, government or foreign minister, and invite envoys and other important foreign guests based in the country.
